London Bridge Hotel Spotlight on Greg Becker Posted on 14/02/2020 by lbhblog Greg Becker is one of 16 talented locally-based artists exhibiting at London Bridge Hotel OPEN 3: Urban Nature, a public art exhibition which runs until the end of May 2020. This marks the third such exhibition in a series originally launched by London Bridge Hotel General Manager, Julio Marques in 2019, conceived in partnership with Team London Bridge and Southwark Council. All artworks are available for purchase. About the artwork: The inspiration for my painting ‘Dawson’s Heights’ came from a strange interrupted vapour trail I saw while walking in Dawson’s Hill Park. I liked how the shape suddenly stopped, a phenomenon caused by a sudden change in air pressure called an Inversion. The abrupt ending seemed to echo the two squared off towers that form part of the iconic Dawson’s Heights housing development which for as long as I can remember has dominated the horizon around my home in East Dulwich. It’s a building I’ve never quite made up my mind about but on that clear blue sky day, everything looked just right.
